Tiburon’s Late-night Ferry Has Pulled Into Port.

With Tiburon fast becoming the Bay Area’s hottest place to dine, drink and play, it makes perfect sense that ferry routes to and from San Francisco now include late-night service between 6:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m., zipping passengers between downtown Tiburon and Pier 1.5 in San Francisco on Thursdays and Fridays, and Hyde Street Pier in San Francisco on Saturdays. The convenient weekend link, which started on February 17, is a result of a collaboration between multiple parties, including Tiburon Ferry Landing owner, A&C Ventures and Tideline Marine Group, the company providing the ferry service. The goal is not just easier access to downtown Tiburon but also bolstered business and reduced traffic and parking woes.

“We are grateful to Golden Gate Ferry, Tideline, and A & C Ventures for their partnership,” said Tiburon Council member Holli Their in a recent press release. “Together, we are expanding travel options so that residents and visitors alike can enjoy all that Tiburon has to offer.”

A stroll down Main Street reveals just why visitors from around the Bay Area are excited to discover Tiburon. Among the new arrivals are Michael Mina’s newest restaurant, The Bungalow Kitchen, wine tasting bar Squalo Vino, the Caviar Company, and plenty of other restaurants and shops. Visitors can also access Angel Island from downtown Tiburon for hiking and biking, camping, and visits to historical sites.

The Tiburon-San Francisco late-night service is on demand and requires passengers to purchase tickets in advance (currently $20/ each way).

Midday, midweek, and weekend daytime ferries between downtown Tiburon and San Francisco’s historic Ferry Building (Gate B) are operated by Golden Gate Ferry.
